Hyundai seems all set to launch the facelift of its premium hatchback, the Elite i20 in the Indian market. An automatic variant of the facelifted version has been spotted testing in near its manufacturing plant in Chennai, Tamilnadu. Going by the previous reports, the car is expected to make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The ongoing Hyundai Elite i20 was one of the best selling premium hatchbacks in the country. It was well appreciated for its high-level comfort and amazing handling features.
The facelifted Elite i20 has been witnessed testing many times on the Indian roads, and we are expecting it to hit the showrooms in the first half of 2018. Although many details are not available, it is expected to get some minor changes in the exterior and some new features in the interior.
The ongoing Elite i20 is famous for its innovative and modern design that makes it look very much appealing and hence, it is one of the best looking cars in the hatchback segment. The same is expected in the upcoming 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 but with minor changes from outside. According to the spied pictures, we can only say that the facelifted version will get a new bumper, new fog lamps and a new grille at the front.
Coming to the side profile of the car, not many changes are to be seen except the new Alloy wheels. You can expect the 2018 Elite i20 to have the same side profile as of the continuing model.
When looked at the backside, the rear end of the car will have some minor changes in the form of tail lamps and newly redesigned bumpers. As per the spied images, the space for the number plate is provided just below the intermediate of the tail lamps. In the upcoming 2018 Elite i20, the backside of the car is slightly raised up, thereby changes in the suspension part are highly anticipated.
Unfortunately, as of now, there are not many details available regarding the interior designing of the car, but the facelift Elite i20 is expected to arrive with the same features that Hyundai Verna offers. To add on, the new car might also get a new stylish infotainment system and a whole new seat upholstery.
Hyundai is popularly known for its powerful diesel as well as petrol engines. The upcoming Elite i20 is expected to arrive in two variants – 1.2L 1197cc petrol engine and 1.4L 1396cc diesel engine. Under the bonnet, the car will carry the same amount of power and torque which is generated in the ongoing model. The 89bhp power and 220 Nm of torque, thus generated, will make it one of the most powerful cars in the same segment. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission system.
The ongoing Hyundai Elite i20 does not have much safety in the base models, so we can expect anti-lock braking system (ABS) in all the variants of the upcoming Facelift, thereby making it safer while driving.
The Hyundai Elite i20 is categorized in the premium hatchback segment. Moreover, the car offers much better features and outer build quality than its competitor Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Considering, the upcoming facelift will come with better features; a slightly higher price tag is expected.
